Programs

While in our care, we will ensure that the women and their children are receiving an education or actively seeking gainful employment. We will assist all the women in our program with obtaining their GED and in applying for colleges and financial aid. With mothers who have their education or do not wish to pursue a higher education, we will help them prepare for a job, by practicing standard interview questions, providing them with proper interview attire, and assisting them with their resume. Not only do we prepare them for job interviews, but we help them learn vital skills to join the workforce, such as basic computer skills and the importance of strong work ethic.

Additionally, Unity Housing for Women and Children assists the women in our program with applying for social assistance programs, such as enrolling in health care and finding appropriate resources that are needed. Importantly, we will work with them to find affordable childcare, which is critical to maintaining employment.

While we may seek outside assistance for women and children, our organization offers a variety of in-house services that are designed to help those in our program become productive members of our community. We provide education on health and wellness, cooking, and yoga to all the women in our care. Our organization’s objectives are accomplished by the implementation of stimulating activities and materials that are organized around a well-developed prospectus.
